Olympic Torch Relay Event Information
EVENT INFORMATION:
5:45 am The Heritage Woods Choir will be performing under a tent at the Anmore Village Hall parking lot. Tim Hortons Coffee Cruiser will be present and handing out hot coffee and hot chocolate!
6:00 am – 6:30 am Olympic Torch Relay. The torch run will take place along Sunnyside starting at the Buntzen Park entry and ending at Elementary Road. **Please note Sunnyside will be closed to traffic from 5:45 until after the Torch passes. Also, there will be several tent stations set up along Sunnyside with fun giveaways to help light the way!
7:00 am – 8:30 am Community Pancake Breakfast. Call the Village Hall for free tickets to attend this event. Pancakes will be served in the Anmore Elementary School Gym. We are expecting between 600-800 people to attend. **There will be an Olympic Torch available on site for photo opportunities, we are asking for a cash donation in support of the SHARE food bank.. so bring your cameras if you want a photo with the Torch!
9 am Anmore Elementary School Assembly There are several special guests that will be in attendance at this assembly and it promises to be a fantastic way to kick off the Olympics. All are welcome to attend, however space is limited.
Thanks to the Anmore Youth Group for helping with the torch decorating days at the Village Hall. It will be a very memorable event and we hope to see everyone out!
