At a Regular Council Meeting in February Council voted to hold an Anmore Renewable Energy Foundation (AREF) Information Meeting on April 6, 2010. This meeting has been cancelled . The reason given by the Village of Anmore is that the AREF item was not properly lifted from the table and therefor any discussion or planned meeting date is invalid.

In a subsequent council meeting (March 30th, 2010), Councillor McEwen motioned to take the AREF item off the table so it could be discussed. The motion was seconded by Councillor Palmer-Isaak. Councillors Piamonte and Sedergreen opposed to motion and because of a tie vote it was defeated and the cancelled meeting date or AREF item could not be discussed by Council.

Councillor John McEwen, has stated that the issue of AREF will remain on the table until at least 3 councillors can agree to have it lifted for discussion. He went on to say that he’s unsure of when the AREF item will be lifted from the table as he was unsuccessful in getting it lifted from the table at the last Regular Council Meeting on March 30th, 2010.
