Anmore Styrofoam Recycling
Wondering what you can do with your holiday styrofoam this year??
Between December 24th, 2011 and January 4th, 2012 you can drop off your clean, white, and coloured styrofoam in the labelled orange bin located in the Village Hall parking lot.
NO GARBAGE OR OTHER RECYCLABLES. STYROFOAM ONLY PLEASE!
That was a BIG bin! It didn’t seem to have an access hole or stairs so in an attempt to get the foam into it I ended up playing frisbee with styrofoam pieces in the pouring rain. I got some funny looks from people driving by.
Anyhow, it was a good idea and I hope that it was a successful in diverting some of our recyclables from the landfill. How about an article for the Anmore Times about this pilot project, the company and what happens to the foam from here?
